We've chosen the ones we've flown with the most and with which we've had the best success. You can't go wrong with any of these choices. Speed 400 Motors Graupner Speed 400 motors come in three different voltages, 4.8V, 6V, and 7.2V. They are small, light, and inexpensive. We haven't found it necessary to break them in and it's almost impossible to wear them out. If you do crash one, their low price makes them easy to replace. All include internal noise suppression capacitors. The number of cells you'll use with a particular motor really depends on the prop and gear ratio, if any, you are using. Geared Speed 400 Motors We stock two versions of Graupner's geared Speed 400 motors. First, we stock the inline, 6V version with a gear ratio of 4:1 for sailplane applications. And second, we stock the offset, 7.2V version with a gear ratio of 2.33:1 for sport applications such as our X250. Both of these motors are proof that you don't have to spend a lot of money to enjoy electric flight. You'll get a lot of hours of flying out of either one.

Jeti 15-4 Brushless
Motor, $93.95 This is the motor used with our popular AcroPro kit. It is designed for Electric Powered Sailplanes or Sport Aerobatic Airplanes up to 56 oz. in weight. The specs are: 1.41" diameter sensorless brushless motor 1.46" long, 4.8 oz., 5mm shaft, 4 turn windings intended for direct drive applications. |

Axi 4130/20 Motor, $149.95 This is the motor used in the SR 1/4 Scale Eindecker kit. This is a very high torque motor capable of spinning very large props in sport aerobatic models of 10-12 lbs. and sailplanes up to 16 lbs. Extremely high torque. 6 mm hardened steel shaft supported by 3 ball bearings. This motor weighs 14.42 oz., is 49mm (2") diameter and is 65.5mm (2-5/8") from back to front. Can be mounted radially. |

Offset
for Speed 400 motors,
$29.95 This is the gearbox we use in most of our Speed 400 size MicroLaser Cut kits. It has a gear ratio of 2.33:1 and a 4mm output shaft. You'll probably want to use an 8x4 to 9x6 prop. No prop adapter is included.

Offset
for Speed 500, 600 and all "05" motors, $21.95 The offset Master Airscrew gearbox come in two different gear ratios, 3:1 and 3.5:1. They come with pinion gears for 3.2mm (1/8") motor shafts and the prop shaft is 1/4"-28. They have twin ball bearings and an overall length of 2.625". The motor is not included. Please specify a gear ratio when ordering.
