ElectriCalc is a must for every electric flier who has a computer. First, you tell ElectriCalc a little about your aircraft, its size, weight, and general configuration. Then, you tell the program about the power system you're thinking of using, the prop pitch and diameter, motor (by brand and model), gear ratio (if any), and the battery pack configuration (number of cells, their capacity, and the brand and model of cell you're using). Now comes the good part. ElectriCalc will now predict the climb rate, speed, angle of climb and flying time. It will also predict the prop RPM and current draw. If you don't like the numbers, you can play with the components and aircraft design until you find the right combination for you. There's a lot more to the program, but this will give you an idea of why this is a must have program.
