Kit Price... $449.95
Designed
and produced with our own hands, like all other SR kits, right here in the
good ole' USA!
In 1915, Anthony
Fokker designed an aircraft which was so deadly, it came to be known as
the "Fokker Scourge!" Today, SR Batteries has created a
new IMAA legal 1/4 Scale Warbird destined to become the next "Fokker
Scourge!" Our new Eindecker E1.
A
GIANT, Giant Scale aircraft... With
a wing span of 100" and a wing area of 1700 sq. in. the E1 is huge,
but easily transportable and sets up at the field with only 4 screws in
less than 5 minutes! The fuselage is only 67" long and the plug in 2
piece wing makes the E1 a breeze to transport and store. At only 16.5 lbs.
it's also light as a feather for its size.
This is an aircraft that you'll be proud to
build and fly with superb flight characteristics. From the ground up it was
designed for "Low & Slow" flight. The E1 flies like a big
"Cub" and beginners and experts alike will love it. In fact, the
E1 is the perfect, first Big Bird aircraft if you're new to Giant Scale.
The reviews are starting to
come in! Here's what people are saying about the SR Eindecker E1 Kit:
Model Aviation Magazine, October 2005 issue:
- "In approximately 45
years of building models, I (Paul Vliet- the reviewer) have never
assembled a kit that went together as perfectly as SR's E1."
- "The design efforts were outstanding,
incorporating many laminated and interlocking parts that add much to its
strength and lightness. The laser-cut parts
were outstanding."
- "The balsa and plywood were top quality.
The hardware was top-notch."
- "The pieces literally fell out of the
balsa-part sheets and popped out of the plywood sheets with virtually no
effort. The fit of these components required no alteration on my behalf;
they went together as well as the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle."
- "Landing the Eindecker was as easy as,
or maybe easier than, landing a trainer."
- "This aircraft is a terrific choice for
a first-time Giant Scale-model builder. Its flight characteristics are
gentle, yet it is capable of all the scale maneuvers one would expect
from the full-scale World War I fighter."
Model Airplane News Magazine, June 2005 issue:
- "The Eindecker is so
easy to fly that any pilot will feel comfortable with it."
- "Antique look...
modern flight performance!"
- "The Eindecker E1 is
a joy to build. It's also easy to assemble and disassemble at the field
and has great flight performance."
- "In the air, its size
and scale flying speed will surely impress other pilots."
- "This is a terrific
scale WW1 plane and it will do all of the maneuvers that the full-size
plane could do."
RCM,
February 2005 issue:
- "I found the
Eindecker to be very stable and predictable in everything it did. Stalls
were very gentle and it didn't take long to get completely comfortable
with the airplane."
- "Building the SR
Eindecker is an experience that will satisfy both the intermediate and
experienced builder/flier. Because of its simplicity and fast building
techniques it presents a great way for the newcomer to get started in
giant scale."
- "As a builder you can
be proud to know that the SR Eindecker E1 has great flight performance
with built-in simplicity and responsible engineering to make it a superb
airplane to build and own."
With
careful loading, one of our customers, Tom Pfarr, found that he could
even transport his SR Eindecker E1
in a Honda Insight hatchback! Way to go Tom!!!
Another one of our customers, Tim O'Mahony,
also sent us pictures of his SR Eindecker E1. Click on any of the
pictures above for a larger view. We think that it looks awesome!
Here's what Tim had to say about his SR Eindecker E1:
"Well, I finally worked all the kinks out
and got my first full flight in today. The Eindecker performed flawlessly!
After 5-6 minutes at altitude getting a feel for her, I spent the next 5
minutes or so shooting touch and goes and low fly-bys. It was awesome.""As
far as ease of flying, I would say that it would make the best trainer I
have ever flown. Slow, stable, what more could you ask for? The only rough
landings and touch and goes I had were from me
trying to horse it around. If you just let it go, it will grease the landing
every time."
Have it your way!
As far as we know, our Eindecker
E1, rather than being a "conversion," is the first kit to be
designed from the ground up for Gas, Glow, or ELECTRIC power systems.
You're assured of superb flight performance regardless of the power system
you prefer.
Over the last 20 years, SR Batteries has
helped write the book on electric flight so it's not surprising that we'd
be the first ones to create a Giant Scale electric warbird the way it
should be done.
