Much of today's professional video and motion picture production is shot with the help of a "Steadicam" rather than with the use of a traditional tripod to hold the camera. The Steadicam is a gyroscopically dampened camera mount that keeps the image smooth and steady even when the camera is handheld and moving quickly. The camera is free to follow the action rather than being locked in one fixed location.

Like most things these days, the Steadicam is battery powered. When the folks at the very popular TV show, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, needed to have their Steadicam batteries rebuilt with high performance 4000mah NiMH cells, they chose SR Batteries to do the work.
